The market is the scoreboard. The world is the game.

Every god in Divine Market is a publicly traded power. Belief is currency. Followers are shares. And you—a Broker of Faith—profit by engineering the wars, plagues, miracles, and heresies that move the price.

Back a god. Then short them the moment it's profitable. Nothing is sacred, including your own portfolio.

You don't react to the market — you create it. Pick a playstyle, or blend several:

  • Kingmaker — elevate your god to total political dominance.
  • Prophet Sponsor — fund rapid-growth movements that shake up the establishment.
  • Cult Financier — back a forgotten god and engineer a lucrative revival, all the way to the Forgotten victory.
  • War Profiteer — start the war your war-god holdings need to spike.
  • Miracle Broker — time a divine intervention for maximum market impact.

You start the game backing one god. That relationship pays your bills — your baseline income rises and falls with their fortunes. But nothing stops you from quietly shorting them the moment a rival's plague event makes it profitable.

Every Broker eventually faces the same question: how long do you stay loyal to the god that's funding you?

Doctrines don't just sit quietly — they conflict. Push a religion's contradictions far enough and it doesn't just crash. It splits, live, into two rival daughter gods: an Orthodox loyalist and a Reformed breakaway, each inheriting a share of the original's followers and an entirely separate market price.

See it coming, and you can short the parent and long both children before anyone else realizes what's happening.

Belief isn't abstract — it's physically located. Followers live in real regions, spread across real borders, and are vulnerable to real regional disasters.

  • Operate across distinct regions like the Imperial Heartland, Coastal Cities, and the Plague Lands, each with its own population, prosperity, and unrest.
  • Deploy persistent agents — Missionaries, Inquisitors, Spies, Cult Leaders — to shift the regional balance of power turn by turn.
  • Fund long-term projects: build cathedrals, translate sacred texts, forge relics — tangible infrastructure that pays off for the rest of the game.

15 gods. 6 domains. One market.

Manage a roster spanning Sun, War, Death, Harvest, Trickster, and Forgotten domains — each with its own personality, volatility, and vulnerabilities. No two campaigns play out the same way twice.
